Jeremias Pestalozzi is acclaimed for his "precision, intensity, and fresh, charming expressiveness," and for performances that "virtually sweep audiences out of their seats with excitement." Jeremias is a student of Julia Fischer and one of the most promising young musicians of his generation.

At the age of 14, he made his debut as a soloist with an orchestra and has already performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls, such as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Rudolfinum in Prague, the Herkulessaal in Munich and the Liederhalle in Stuttgart. Among other engagements, he performed Bach’s Double Violin Concerto with his professor Julia Fischer and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra at her invitation. He has also toured twice with the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie, during which he also conducted the orchestra. He has gained further experience as a soloist through numerous concerts with orchestras such as the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic, the Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich, the Wendland Symphony Orchestra and the Youth Orchestra of the Bavarian State Orchestra.

In 2026, he was selected as one of only six violinists for the Academy of the prestigious Verbier Festival. He is a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes. In 2018 and 2019, he won first prize with the highest marks at the national level of the ‘Jugend musiziert’ competition in the solo and duo (violin/piano) category.

‘In Bach, Jeremias Pestalozzi demonstrated great versatility, musical sensitivity, and a keen sense for chamber music expression in the first violin part.’

‘Pestalozzi captivated the audience with his precision, intensity and fresh, charming delivery. At times broad, powerful and earthy, at others delicate and almost ethereal, he set the tone, interpreting the spirited final movement with spectacular fingerwork whilst conducting the entire ensemble with the utmost nonchalance.’

Debut in the Dvořák Hall at the Rudolfinum in Prague with Julia Fischer

In April 2024, I had the wonderful opportunity, to perform Bach’s Double Violin Concerto with the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, at the invitation of my professor Julia Fischer as part of her ‘residency’ in Prague. Sharing the stage with Julia as a soloist was a tremendous pleasure, as was rehearsing with this world-class orchestra; it was also a highly instructive experience. The concert took place in the legendary Great Hall of the Rudolfinum, named after Antonín Dvořák, who conducted the Czech Philharmonic’s very first concert right here.

Tours with the deutschen Streicherphilharmonie

In 2023, between two of my A-level exams, I went on tour with the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie for the first time at the invitation of principal conductor Wolfgang Hentrich. I got on so well with the young musicians in the orchestra that, as early as the first concert, I was conducting the orchestra – which at times numbered over 60 musicians – parallel to performing the solo part. I was thrilled by these ‘play and conduct’ concerts. It is always very important to me to view the music in a truly holistic way and to have a vision of its interpretation that is not limited solely to the solo part, which was, of course, very helpful for this task of leading an orchestra.

Concerts with the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra

Since my debut with the orchestra in 2019, I have performed with them almost every year at the invitation of Chief Conductor Daniel Spaw. This has allowed me to gain stage experience performing many of the most important violin concertos. These include the violin concertos by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, Dvořák, Wieniawski and Mozart. I have also had the opportunity to work with various conductors and experience their different approaches; alongside Daniel Spaw himself, these include Andrej Vesel, Kazem Abdullah and Christian Simonis.

Chamber music

Chamber music has been very close to my heart since I was very young. Over the years, I have had countless opportunities to perform with many outstanding musicians, including: Julia Fischer, Nils Mönkemeyer, Hariolf Schlichtig, Sarah Christian, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Lena Neudauer, Markus Wolf, Roland Glassl, Benjamin Nyphenegger and Magdalene Ho. As well as the concerts, rehearsals with such outstanding musicians are particularly instructive. In December 2025, I stepped in for the Mendelssohn Octet – originally planned to feature only professors from the HMTM – after Kirill Troussov had to pull out.

Debut at the Elbphilharmonie

In October 2025, I was invited as a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben to the annual charity concert in the main hall of the Elbphilharmonie. As well as playing in the chamber orchestra, I also had the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the orchestra. It was a great pleasure to rehearse the programme in Hamburg under the baton of Fedor Rudin and, in the process, to get to know many of my fellow scholarship holders even better. The crystal-clear acoustics of the hall were ideal for our programme, which ranged from Mozart and Paganini to contemporary music, and it remains an unforgettable musical experience.
