Jeremias Pestalozzi is acclaimed for his "precision, intensity, and fresh, charming expressiveness," and for performances that "virtually sweep audiences out of their seats with excitement." Jeremias is a student of Julia Fischer and one of the most promising young musicians of his generation.
At the age of 14, he made his debut as a soloist with an orchestra and has already performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls, such as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Rudolfinum in Prague, the Herkulessaal in Munich and the Liederhalle in Stuttgart. Among other engagements, he performed Bach’s Double Violin Concerto with his professor Julia Fischer and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra at her invitation. He has also toured twice with the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie, during which he also conducted the orchestra. He has gained further experience as a soloist through numerous concerts with orchestras such as the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic, the Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich, the Wendland Symphony Orchestra and the Youth Orchestra of the Bavarian State Orchestra.
In 2026, he was selected as one of only six violinists for the Academy of the prestigious Verbier Festival. He is a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes. In 2018 and 2019, he won first prize with the highest marks at the national level of the ‘Jugend musiziert’ competition in the solo and duo (violin/piano) category.
As a passionate chamber musician, he spent seven years as the first violinist of a permanent string quartet, whilst still a junior student. He is now a regular guest at festivals and concert series such as the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Odeon Concerts at the Allerheiligen Hofkirche in Munich, La Prairie Bellmund, the Herrenchiemsee Island Concerts, the Ickinger Frühling and the Munich String Days. He has performed with musicians such as Julia Fischer, Hariolf Schlichtig, Nils Mönkemeyer, Sarah Christian, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Roland Glassl, Benjamin Nyphenegger and Magdalene Ho.
Born in Munich in 2005, he began taking violin lessons at the age of five. In 2019, he became a junior student at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts, initially studying with Simone and Peter Michielsen and Prof. Christoph Poppen, and from 2022 in the class of Prof. Julia Fischer, where he is currently studying for his Bachelor’s degree. Jeremias gained further musical inspiration from masterclasses with, amongst others, Ana Chumachenco, Ingolf Turban, Lena Neudauer and Nora Chastain.
